On Wednesday, April 19, Franklin Pierce community members gathered to recognize and
celebrate the University's long-standing dining services partner, Sodexo, and its
commitment to both facility renovations and student scholarships.
Late last year, Sodexo made an outright gift of $200,000 to support student scholarships, ensuring greater access to higher education for all Ravens.
In addition, thanks in part due to a generous gift from Sodexo, Franklin Pierce is embarking on a $2.5 million renovation of its current dining spaces. The three-year, total makeover will occur in multiple phases, phase one of which has already been completed with the recent updates to the Raven’s Nest Café. Phase two will take place over summer break and will include:
- An open-concept prep, cooking, and serving area with new kitchen equipment;
- Additional food stations, including an allergen-friendly enclosed area;
- Renovated and refreshed main serving and middle dining area with air-conditioning; and
- Refurbished booth seating along the windows in the lower dining area, with new hardwood floors and fresh paint.
The work over the summer, and subsequent updates in the coming years to the middle and back dining rooms, including updated seating throughout, additional food stations, and a cooking kitchen, ensures that Franklin Pierce offers a dining and gathering space that is welcoming, inclusive, and in line with the needs and requests of our students.
